Isaiah 47 from the Orthodox Jewish Bible

Go down, and sit in the aphar, O Betulat Bat Bavel, sit on the ground; there is no kisse, O Bat Kasdim (Chaldeans); for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. 2) Take the millstones, and grind meal; uncover thy tzammah (hair tresses) lift up thy shohvel (train, skirt), bare the neharot. 3) Thy ervat (nakedness) shall be exposed, yes, thy cherpah (shame, reproach) shall be seen: I will take nakam (vengeance) and I will not be as adam when I meet thee.
4) Go’ aleinu, Hashem Tzva’os Shmo, Kadosh Yisroel. 5) Sit thou silent, and get thee into choshech, O Bat Kasdim (Chaldeans); for thou shalt no more be called, Geveret Mamlachot (The Lady of Kingdoms). 6) I was angry with My people, I have profaned Mine nachalah, and given them into thine yad; thou didst show them no rachamim (mercy); upon the zaken (ancient, old)) hast thou very heavily laid thy ol (yoke). 7) And thou saidst, I shall be a Geveret ad l’olahm (Lady forever): so that thou didst not lay these things to thy lev, neither didst remember her {Babylon’s} acharit (latter end, i.e. future destruction). 8) Therefore hear now this, O adinah (voluptuous, wanton one) that dwellest lavetach (carelessly, in security), that sayest in her lev, I am, and none else besides me; I shall not live as an almanah, neither shall I know shechol (the loss of children, bereavement); 9) But these two things shall overtake thee in a rega (moment), in yom echad, shechol (the loss of children), and almon (widowhood); they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy kashefanut (sorceries, witchcraft) and for the otzmah (great abundance) of thine khavarim (spells, magic, enchantments).
10) For thou hast trusted in thy ra’ah (wickedness); thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy chochmah and thy da’as, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine lev, I am, and none else beside me. 11) Therefore shall ra’ah come upon thee; thou shalt not know its shachar (dawn, from whence it riseth); and tragedy will befall thee; thou shalt not be able to make kofer (ransom) to ward it off; and sho’ah (catastrophe) shall come upon thee pitom (suddenly), which thou shalt not foresee or know. 12) Stand now with thine khavarim (spells, magic, enchantments), and with the multitude of thy kashefanut (sorceries, witchcraft) wherein thou hast toiled from thy hast toiled from thy neurim; perhaps thou shalt be able to succeed, perhaps thou mayest cause terror. 13) Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy etzot (counsels). Let now stand up the hovrev Shomayim (the dissectors of heavens, astrologers), the chozim bakochavim (stargazers), the ones that predict the future by Rosh Chodesh, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
14) Hinei, they shall be as kash (stubble, straw); the eish shall burn them; they shall burn them; they shall not save their nefesh from the power of the flame; there shall not be a hot coal to warm them, nor eish to sit before.
15) Thus unto thee are they with whom thou hast toiled, who have been thy socharim (traffickers, i.e., religious practitioners) from thy neurim (youth); they shall wander about in their random exist; none shall act as Moshi’a to thee.
In this next version of the same scripture, I will attempt to translate more of the Hebrew words to reveal a clearer understanding of this message.
Go down, and sit in the aphar (ashes), O Betulat Bat (virgin daughter) Bavel, sit on the ground; there is no kisse (throne), O Bat Kasdim (daughter of Chaldeans); for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. 2) Take the millstones, and grind meal; uncover thy tzammah (hair tresses) lift up thy shohvel (train, skirt), bare the neharot (actual head, leader, chief). (Expose your prince)
The original daughter of the Chaldean’s was Inanna, who later became Ishtar.

As for our REDEEMER, the LORD of HOST is HIS NAME, the HOLY ONE of ISRAEL!
5) Sit thou silent, and get thee into choshech (punishment, darkness), O Bat Kasdim (daughter of Chaldeans); for thou shalt no more be called, Geveret Mamlachot (The Lady of Kingdoms). 6) I was angry with My people, I have profaned (polluted by releasing) Mine nachalah (inheritance), and given them into thine yad (hand); thou didst show them no rachamim (mercy); upon the zaken (the ancient, the old, heads of households, wise leaders)) hast thou very heavily laid thy ol (yoke, bondage, subjugation). 7) And thou saidst, I shall be a Geveret ad l’olahm (Lady forever, everlasting): so that thou didst not lay these things to thy lev (heart), neither didst remember her {Babylon’s} acharit (latter end, i.e. future destruction).
In other words she seems to have forgot how the bitter end to her successful reign was predicted long, ago.
She will influence the entire world using a monarchical succession of powerful kings until the end.
8) Therefore hear now this, O adinah (voluptuous, wanton one) that dwellest lavetach (carelessly, securely, and confidently), that sayest in her lev (heart), I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not live as an almanah, a widow (without a husband or no means of financial support) neither shall I know shechol (the loss of children); 9) But these two things shall overtake thee in a rega (moment), in Yom echad (one day), shechol (the loss of children), and almon (widowhood, abandonment of your kings); shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy kashefanut (sorceries, witchcraft) and for the otzmah (great abundance) of thine khavarim (spells, magic, enchantments).
Voluptuous – indulgence in luxury, pleasure, and sensuous enjoyment:
10) For thou hast trusted in thy ra’ah (judgment, perception); thou hast said, None seeth me (will figure out what I have done). Thy chochmah (wisdom) and thy da’as (education, knowledge), it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine lev (heart), I am, and there is none else beside me.
11) Therefore shall ra’ah (severe judgment) come upon thee; thou shalt not know its shachar (it’s dawn, from whence it riseth); and tragedy will befall thee; thou shalt not be able to make kofer (ransom) to ward it off; and sho’ah (catastrophe) shall come upon thee pitom (suddenly), which thou shalt not foresee or know.
An unknown catastrophe, one you are unfamiliar with, will come upon you suddenly.
12) Stand now with thine khavarim (spells, magic, enchantments), and with the multitude of thy kashefanut (sorceries, witchcraft) wherein thou hast toiled from thy neurim (youth); perhaps thou shalt be able to succeed (be useful), perhaps thou mayest cause terror. 13) Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy etzot (counsels). Let now stand up the hovrev Shomayim (the dissectors of heavens), the chozim bakochavim (stargazers), the ones that predict the future by Rosh Chodesh (new moon), and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
This reveals that today’s astrologers, astronomers and other scientist will not be able to predict or explain what is coming.
A dissector is someone who opens things up, taking them apart piece by piece to see what is inside. Separating things into parts for scientific examination.
14) Hinei (I am prepared), they shall be as kash (stubble); the eish (supernatural fire) shall burn them; they shall not save their nefesh (soul) from the power of the flame; there shall not be a hot coal to warm them, nor eish (flame) to sit before.
15) Thus unto thee are they (governments, kings) with whom thou hast toiled (labored), who have been thy socharim (traffickers) from thy neurim (youth); they shall wander about in their random exist; none shall act as Moshi’a (savoir) to thee.
They can not save you!
Verse 15 (NIV) tells us: That is all they are to you-these you have dealt with and labored with since childhood. All of them go on in their error; there is not one that can save you. Meaning these people have been working in error for a very long time, many many years. What they believed is incorrect and now this error will reap much destruction.
Babylon will be Punished. Again! (NLV)
47 “Come down and sit in the dust, O pure daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, O people of the Babylonians. For you will no longer be called soft and gentle. 2 Take the heavy stones and grind grain. Take off your face-covering and your clothing. Take the covering off your legs, and cross the rivers. 3 Your body will not be covered, and your shame will be seen. I will punish, and will not show pity to any man.” 4 The One Who bought us and saves us, the Lord of All is His name, the Holy One of Israel. 5 “Sit and be quiet, and go into darkness, O people of the Babylonians. For you will no more be called the queen of nations. 6 I was angry with My people. I made My chosen nation unclean, and gave them into your hand. You did not show loving-kindness to them. On the older people you made your load very heavy. 7 You said, ‘I will be a queen forever.’ So you did not think about these things, or remember what might happen.
8 “So now hear this, you who love the desires of the body, who live without fear of danger. You say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one besides me. I will not sit as a woman whose husband has died, and I will not lose my children.’ 9 But these two things will come upon you all at once in one day. You will lose your children and your husband. All this trouble will come to you, even with all your witchcraft and the strong power of your sinful secret ways. 10 You trusted in your sin and said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and learning have led you the wrong way, for you have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one besides me.’ 11 Much trouble will come upon you, and you will not know how to get away from it. Trouble will fall on you, and there will be no way for you to pay that it might go away. You will not know it but all at once you will be destroyed.
12 “Keep on with your sinful secret ways and all your witchcraft that you have used since you were young. It might be that you will get something from it. Maybe you can cause fear. 13 You are tired with your many wise men. Now call the star watchers, those who tell by the stars what will happen in the future, those who tell the future by the new moons. Have them stand up and save you from what will come upon you. 14 See, they have become like dry grass. Fire burns them. They cannot take themselves away from the power of the fire. This is no fire for making one warm, or fire to sit by! 15 This is how those are to you, with whom you have worked since you were young. Each one has gone on in his own wrong way. There is no one who can save you.
