The Two Witnesses of Revelation
Revelation 11 verse 1, I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.
1260 = 180 + 720 + 360
For 1,260 years what the Gentiles think is Yerushalayim, will be trampled and desecrated. According to Luke 21: 24, this will continue until Yehoshua’s return.
Luke 21:24 (Aramaic Bible) And they shall fall by the mouth of the sword and they shall be led captive to every region, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles will be finished.
Revelation 11:3
And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred threescore day/years (1260), clothed in sackcloth.
Throughout time, many people have claimed to have discovered the identities of GOD’s two witnesses in Revelation.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints has claimed that Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum Smith, Assistant President from 1841 to 1844, were the two witnesses of Revelation.
The Baha’i Faith believers, believe that Muhammed, the founder of Islam, and Ali, the son of Abu Talib were the two witnesses of Revelations .
First, let’s acknowledge that Revelation is a book comprised almost entirely of spiritual content. Only through the SPIRIT of GOD can one even attempt to comprehend HIS true message. People expect when GOD speaks, HIS words will manifest in accordance with our brief concept of time, not considering the fact that GOD is not a corporeal being, HE is infinite, timeless. When GOD speaks, His words will surely come to pass, just not according to our timetable, but HIS.
One of the Hebrew words used for day, “Yom“ has multiple meanings, and can be associated with multiple different timelines, which include a Period of light (in contrast to the period of darkness), a Period of twenty-four hours. It could be a general term for time, point of time, Sunrise to sunset, a year, a long, but finite span of time – age – epoch – or a season.
Let us articulate that Yom, in this scripture, represent a set of years as oppose to days. This would mean that 2016 equals the precise calculation of, one thousand two hundred and sixty years (1260) since the event known as, “The Donation of Pepin”, which provided a legal basis for the Papal States (also called the Republic of Saint Peter, 756 CE until 1870),
The Republic of Saint Peter, refers to a document that gave the Roman Catholic Church it’s legal stronghold in Italy, and Western Europe, which eventually led to its unmitigated influence throughout the world. Through this (questionable) document, given to the church by Pepin the Short, King of the Franks, the Roman Catholic Church was able to acquire territories that allowed it to become the most powerful political, and religious force dominating most of Europe today.
During all this time (the 1260 years) the truth given to us from GOD through his many prophets, Yehoshua and His disciples have continued to fall under attack. The dragon through his little horn (the pope) works diligently to keep hidden any truth that would enlighten those hoping to find it. Today it would appear that the truth had almost been completely lost, buried or destroyed.
Looking at our world with all the sin and corruption, one would assume that it had been entirely consumed by the wretched evil that seeks to extinguish any truth or compassion still lingering among us. Those who claim to be ministers of light, work diligently to obtain wealth, power, and fame just as popular performers, sport players, and political figures do.
Amos 8:11 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD GOD, “When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the LORD.
Revelation 11:4
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the GOD of the earth.
Zechariah 4:14 So he said, “these are the two who are anointed to serve the LORD of all the earth.”
The Hebrew word for olive tree is shemen, it literally means, ‘tree of oil.’ It is from the primitive root meaning, “to shine,” and related to the word Shemesh,“ meaning to be brilliant.” It would appear that the two witnesses are a summary of the law (GOD’s law) and the many, prophets sent to us over the centuries by HIM to assist and warn us, giving instruction, guidance, and hope.
The laws (commandments) were given to us by GOD HIMSELF, to establish order, structure, and to provide a loving, peaceful environment where families could live together in peace, procreate and thrive.
Revelation 11:5
If anyone tries to do them harm, fire comes out of their mouth and consumes their enemies- yes, if anyone tries to harm them, that is how he must die.
The word translated as die is the Greek word apokteinó and it spiritually means to abolish.
The Greek word translated as harm is “adikeo” #91, and it means to inflict undeserved hurt by ignoring GOD’s justice.
This sequence of events predicted in scripture, confirms that destruction is soon to come to all those establishments who persist in damaging GOD’s truth.
They will be held accountable for the injustice shown to GOD’s people and for the continual mutilation of HIS Word.
Jeremiah 5:14 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “Because ye speak this word, behold I will make My words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.”
Remember, this Revelation is set to begin according to GOD’s timeline and not ours, and according to scripture these revelations have already begun, starting in 756 CE and finalizing themselves in 2016 (1260 years later).
The enemies of GOD are to be devoured by His word, because they have put all their faith in lies. HIS truth, like fire, will begin to consume those who continue to teach and work in iniquity.
Iniquity comes from the Hebrew Avon and it means to bend, twist, and distort GOD’s Word, often for selfish, narcissistic reasons.
GOD has sent many prophets to warn us about the destruction that follows iniquity, (acts of paganism, demon worship and idolatry). Unfortunately, it appears that over these past 1260 years most would prefer to continue in the traditions of man rather than to conform to GOD’s WILL.
Revelation 11:6
These have the power to shut heaven, holding back the rains in the Days of their prophecy: and have powers over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
Jeremiah 3:3 Therefore the showers have been withheld, and the spring rain has not come; yet you have the brazen look of idolatry; you refuse to be ashamed.
Two prophets in particular, Moses and Elijah are the exemplification of these descriptions. Elijah urged the people of ancient Israel to turn away from sin and to reinstate GOD’s true and perfect laws. According to the books of Kings, he defended the worship of the True GOD over the Canaanite deity, Baal. Elijah performed many miracles through GOD, which included, raising the dead, and bringing fire down from the sky. He also displayed the power to shut heaven causing the rain to cease, just as John described in Revelation.
Moses, through the power of GOD, turned water into blood and smote the earth with many plagues (Joshua 24:5). Moses was one of the greatest prophets, leaders and teachers of Yisroel before the coming of Yehoshua the Messiah. It was through Moses that GOD gave us HIS perfect laws (the commandments).
Revelation 11:7
When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.(burying their words and testimonies)
(Testimony means to bear witness)
Daniel 7:21 As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them.
It appears that over this period of time, the one thousand, two hundred ,and sixty years (specifically from 756 CE until 2016), the beast has wielded unmitigated power, through manipulating deceitful lies, in the pursuit of his demonic war against GOD. During this time, he has inspired an undying devotion by his followers to implement his works which exist as blatant contradictions to GOD’s perfect law. Many over the years have fought the good fight and paid with their lives, however, far too many have succumbed to the unscrupulous deceptions of the powerful beast (the anti- messiah) and his religion (Christianity).
Did you Know? That the jurisdiction of the Pope is called, “The Holy See.” In fact he (the Pope) is literally called the “Holy See,” by his devoted followers.
Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots.
And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking very great things.
The Catholic Church claims in the Great Encyclical Letters to Leo XII, page 304….
“We hold upon this earth the place of GOD ALMIGHTY.”
Lucius Ferraris Prompta Bibliotheca article: “Papa” II, vol. page 29
“The (Bishop of Rome) is of so great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret divine laws, the (Bishop of Rome) can modify divine law, since his power is not of man, but of GOD and he acts as Vicegerent (representative) of GOD upon earth.
Revelation 11:8
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
The word translated as crucified was translated from the Greek word stauros, which means to drive stakes.
Revelation 11:8 reveals how GOD, HIS SON and HIS saints were insultingly discarded by the people of this world. Yehoshua, GOD’s commandments, and HIS prophets were all replaced by idols, false man-made commandments, and pagan rituals..
During the 1260 years, GOD has allowed the dragon to rule the earth through his beast nations (the horns) and his little horn, the “Holy See.”
Deuteronomy 21:23 instructs us to bury the bodies of those executed.
Deuteronomy 21:23 (KJV) His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but you shall bury him that same day, (for a hanged man is cursed of GOD) You shall not defile your land that the LORD your GOD is giving you for an inheritance.
(Qelalah) Hebrew which was translated into the word, “cursed” and comes from the Hebrew root ,qalal, which means to treat with contempt.
Considering, that only two men, Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy Hebrew, along with Nicodemus, petitioned Pilate, to release the body of Yehoshua into their care to provide a proper burial, we are unfortunately, left to assume that under the vices of the Pharisee’s and Sadducee’s, Yehoshua’s body, would have been left to hang over night. Even though GOD’s law explicitly forbade it? Could this be why so many young black men (descendants of the Yehudim) were later desecrated in this very same manner?
Have you ever heard the song by Billie Holiday, “Strange Fruit,’ recorded in 1939? It was a solemn cry, speaking out against the horrible lynching’s which commonly befell so many young Black men during this time.
From 1882 to 1968 thousands of Black men, and some women, and children in Southern portions of the United States were cruelly hunted, beaten, executed, and left hanging on trees, to terrorize and flush out the remnant of the Yehuda. Through terror, and grief, perpetrators of hate, used violent acts to enforce unconditional capitulation. Yet in the book, the Bible, the very book by which these same perpetrators claimed to love, and live by, it is revealed that Yehoshua Himself, was hung on a tree in order to redeem us all, from this very curse.
Acts 5:30 “The GOD of our fathers raised Yeshua, whom you killed by hanging Him on a tree.”
Acts 10:39 “They put Him to death by hanging him on a tree.”
Galatians 3: 13-14 Messiah redeemed us from the curse pronounced in the law by becoming cursed on our behalf’ for the Tanakh say’s, Everyone who hangs on a tree comes under a curse.” 14 Yeshua the Messiah did this so that in union with Him people might receive the blessing announced to Avraham (Abraham), so that through trusting and being faithful, we might receive what was promised, namely the Spirit.
Psalm 79:2-3 They have given the dead bodies of Your servants as food for birds of the heavens, the flesh of Your godly ones to beasts of the earth. 3, they have poured out their blood like water, all around Jerusalem and there was no one to bury them.
Revelation 11:9
For three and a half days (Hemera) some from the peoples and tribes, languages, and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and refuse to let them be placed in a tomb,
for (360+720+180=1260) years GOD’s law, along with the words and teachings of HIS prophets, were deliberately desecrated!!
Spiritual Egypt and Sodom…
Egypt (the nation of Kemet)– was notorious for introducing the Israelite’s (and others) to gross idolatry, and demonic worship.
Sodom– The city of Sodom will forever be connected to sexual sin, and gross perversion (fornication, gang rape, unnecessary violence, and sodomy). Sodom in Hebrew is “shadad”, meaning to deal with violently, or to destroy all together.
Jerusalem is currently under a curse, for it was indeed the great city mentioned in Revelation 11: 8, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, and where also our Lord was killed.
Romans 1:22-23 – Was a powerful Message to Idolaters
Romans 1:22-23 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible GOD into an image made like corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
Romans 1: 24 – 25, explains the result of idolatry!
24) Therefore, GOD gave them up in the lust of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
25) They exchanged the truth about GOD for a lie and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised. (Mighty and Trustworthy King).
Romans 1 :26- 27, details specific penalties for the acts of idolatry.
26) Because of this, GOD gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27) In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men and received in themselves the due (penalty) for their error.
The English word translated as “error” is plané, figuratively it means delusion, wandering, or roaming into sin.
Spiritual Egypt and Sodom began with the killing and appropriating of Yehoshua, GOD’s perfect SON. This clearly explains how the rejection of the truth led to the false practice of idolatry, which begets the penalty of (shadad) total destruction.
Colossians 3:5
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
These Scriptures Revelation 11:8-9 appear to reveal how the truth, remains under attack. No one is at all concerned about the blasphemies committed against GOD’s Name or the constant blaspheming and desecration of HIS prophets, and HIS laws. In fact, most seem to be celebrating as the bodies of GOD’s witnesses, who were formally believed to be dead, continue to lay seemingly lifeless in the street.
Remember, that these scriptures may not physically be referring to actual 24-hour days. The Hebrew word translated as days, yamim, like yom, relates to multiple concepts of time. It can be used not only for days, but also years, and many other measurements of time.
The Greek word Hemera can describe day, time, or even years.
This scripture is most likely speaking in terms of the same one thousand two hundred- and sixty-year (1260 year) time-line where the lamb beast (anti-messiah) was given to reign unopposed. If this is correct then the bodies which appear dead in the street could indeed be a representation of the law and prophets which were rejected, discarded and completely abandoned by the people, as they foolishly continued in sin. Practicing the lies, and traditions of men, given to them directly from the anti-messianic beast, and the little horn.
(11:9) Not receiving a proper burial was a matter of great shame. Yet this particular scripture seems to focus attention on how the world continued to show flagrant disrespect for the True GOD, even than their disrespectful behavior toward the actual departed, (the bodies representing the law and prophets).
This scripture reiterates, not only did they refuse to receive GOD’s truth, but they desecrated the words and teachings of HIS messengers, replacing truth with lies, and appropriated facts into fiction, all while celebrating what they perceived to be a new era in time, which marked the end to (the true prophets and the true law).
Revelation 11:10
And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
This description sounds a lot like how people celebrate Christmas (Saturnalia) today, with all its merry making and gift giving. People of many different religions and cultures celebrate this pagan holiday, while blaspheming that it is the birth date of the son of God.
This also reveals that because the 1260 year time-line appeared so long, (lasting generations) many falsely believed they would suffer little to no penalty for their abominable acts of transgression. During this time many people believed that both the law and prophets were dead, meaning, they (saw) or perceived no physical consequence for their years of inappropriate behaviors. This caused them to continue in sin, declining even further in morality, integrity, and even compassion.
It also led them to misinterpret the 1260 year reign of the beast, into what they perceived as godly approval of their many godless acts, which included their blasphemies, their paganism, their idolatries, and their flagrant commandment breaking. These behaviors were explicitly condemned by the ONE TRUE GOD over and over again in scripture.
Currently, today, since the 1260 year timeline has expired (in 2016), multiple cities, nations, religious organizations, and people in general find themselves in jeopardy, as they must soon pay the penalties for these many years of iniquity. Today, large corporations, organizations, and generational institutions are experiencing the repercussions which follow multiple years of godless behaviors.
Revelation 11:11-13
And after three days and a half (the1260 year timeline) the spirit of life from GOD entered into them, (again the law and the prophets) and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Those who could see the law and prophets (the truth) as it began to prevail, became fearful of GOD’s judgement. Even though the timeline has expired, many will continue in their ungodly conduct until the very end. But, there will also be many who will realized how after centuries of desecrating GOD’s laws and prophets, the inevitable truth of GOD, continues to endure.
Psalm 25:3 No one waiting for you will be disgraced; disgrace awaits those who break faith for no reason.
12) And they (the witnesses) heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
In Greek, the word translated as “saying” in English is, legouses which actually means, “to bring a message to closure;” “properly moving it to a conclusion.”
Truth is restored,
13) At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed (destroyed) in the earthquake, and the survivors (remnant) were terrified and gave glory to the GOD of heaven. Remember these events appear to take place in the city of Jerusalem, which is spiritually Sodom and Egypt.
Not quite sure about the number seven thousand, but we do know that seven million Jews reside in Israel to date.
Where verse (13) describes, “that very hour,” it could also be described as, “in that time,” or even “during that period.” Telling us that this seismic activity seem to take place during the exact time the law and prophets were called up to GOD (or once their message came into completion), explaining how this “seismos,” or earthquake happens at the very same moment the truth is exposed, or maybe it is the cause of the truth being unveiled. The Greek word seismos, from, seio” metaphorically means, “to agitate,” to cause a feeling of uneasiness, restlessness or to arouse public concern, in order to prompt a reaction. The more truth is revealed, the more the earth will quake.
The SPIRIT of GOD prevails!!!
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seek such to worship him. 24} God is spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The description of Revelation 11:3-9
reveals that the attempts to conceal, obstruct or even destroy the law, represented by Moses, and other prophets of GOD, such as Elijah, were futile. The attempt to hide the NAME, Yehoshua, HIS Messiah, was also futile. The TRUTH continues to bear witness to our disgrace. Our sins can never remain hidden from GOD.
Revelation 11:14-15
The second angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven which said:
15 “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our LORD and HIS Messiah, and HE will reign for ever and ever.
Deuteronomy 11: 13 say’s; So, if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve HIM with all your heart and with all your soul—
This is the beginning of righteousness,
So, maybe, all the remarkable occurrences we have witnessed in real time, (although men continue to arrogantly desecrate the earth) are not necessarily be due to global warming after all,
but instances of GOD’s truth bursting through all the lies and deception!!!
We Must Heed GOD’s Warning!!!
Deuteronomy 11:16-21, Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. 17 Then the Lord’s anger will burn against you, and he will shut up the heavens so that it will not rain, and the ground will yield no produce, and you will soon perish from the good land the Lord is giving you. 18 Fix these words of MINE in your hearts and mind; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.
